Bartlett, Halsey, d.1864 1862 November 1 Letter.

Bartlett writes to his sister while serving in the 6th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry at Beaufort, South Carolina. He tells of the wounding of Col. Chatfield and Lt. Col. Spidell and the deaths of Col. Brown of the 3rd Rhode Island Infantry and Maj. General Mitchel. He describes Mitchel's funeral in detail including the salutes by the 47th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.
